No More GTA6 Delays: November 19 Confirmed

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick rules out another GTA6 delay, confirms November 19 2026, and says the $80 and $100 editions hold their price into 2027.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has directly addressed reports of another Grand Theft Auto VI delay, dismissing them and reaffirming the November 19, 2026 release date. According to Zelnick, the team feels confident about the current state of development and sees no reason to move the date — though he acknowledged that game development is inherently unpredictable.

Corroboration came from the Extended Look itself, which closes with a clear reference to November 19. Combined with Rockstar's own leaked-footage statement describing the game as "nearly there," the message from both Rockstar and its parent company is consistent: the date is holding after the title slipped from Fall 2025 to May 2026 and then to November 2026.

On pricing, Zelnick has been unusually forthright. Speaking on Take-Two's August 7 investor call, he said "I think Rockstar got it right on the pricing of the Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition," describing the $80 Standard and $100 Ultimate tiers as "an exercise in restraint" and arguing that the higher price point delivers incremental value. Pre-orders, he said, have been exceptional for both versions.

Perhaps the most surprising disclosure: in a CNBC interview Zelnick revealed that more players are pre-ordering the $100 Ultimate Edition than the $80 Standard Edition. When the interviewer suggested the split might be even, Zelnick corrected him — "Actually, it is skewing more to the premium edition."

Players waiting for a sale should prepare to wait a long time. Zelnick said Take-Two generally avoids discounting shortly after launch, citing GTA5 as precedent: "We preserved our pricing on Grand Theft Auto V for a very long time." Reports indicate GTA6 is expected to hold its launch price through much of 2027, though individual retailers may still offer limited discounts on physical copies.

Take-Two reiterated its Fiscal 2027 net bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion on the same call, tying the projection to momentum around the November launch. Zelnick also framed the Netflix Extended Look as merely "one of the hors d'oeuvres" in a larger marketing campaign — suggesting plenty more GTA6 material is still to come before launch.
