GTA6 DualSense Controllers Revealed
Sony reveals two GTA6 DualSense controllers at State of Play. $84.99, pre-orders open September 10, launching November 19 alongside the game.
Sony Interactive Entertainment used its September 3 State of Play to unveil two limited-edition Grand Theft Auto VI DualSense Wireless Controllers. Both launch on November 19, 2026 — the same day as the game itself — and pre-orders open September 10 at 10:00 AM ET (7:00 AM PT) through PlayStation Direct and participating retailers.
The White Limited Edition is described by PlayStation as embodying "Vice City at daybreak," pairing white and pastel tones with a shimmering finish that mimics sunlight on water. The Black Limited Edition captures the city after dark, using a black body with neon-purple gradients meant to evoke lit storefronts and rooftop views. Both share a color-shifting top coat, palm tree shapes physically molded into the grips as raised texture, a stylized VI on the touchpad, purple face buttons and D-pad arrows, and the classic Grand Theft Auto logo embossed on the back.
The important detail for buyers is the distribution split. The White edition sells through PlayStation Direct and participating retailers worldwide. The Black edition is a PlayStation Direct exclusive in every region where Direct operates — the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy and Austria — meaning buyers in those countries will not find it at Amazon, Best Buy or GameStop. In regions without Direct, select retailers will carry it.
Pricing is $84.99 in the US, €84.99 in Europe, £74.99 in the UK and ¥12,480 in Japan. Both are produced in limited quantities, and the track record here is not encouraging: the Icon Blue Special Edition sold out within an hour of its August 6 launch. Anyone after the Black edition should be logged into direct.playstation.com with payment details saved before pre-orders go live.
On the technical side, these are standard DualSense units with custom finishes — no extra hardware. The advantage comes from what GTA6 does with the existing feature set: haptic feedback and adaptive triggers responding to crashes and gunfire, the built-in speaker adding texture to key moments, and Tempest 3D AudioTech for positional sound. Sony continues to market the game as playing "best on PS5." Notably, no console bundle was announced, which would have been the natural moment for one.
